Also Very Good

More Library Music from the Dusty Shelf blog.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

More Simon Park

In fact it's his follow up to 1981's "Superdoop".

Really one of the best library music composers, his albums actually feel like standalone releases.

This one however is sold as "Exciting, dramatic sounds for electronic synthesizers".

HIGH CLIMBER VIA THE AWESOME DUSTY SHELF

POINTLESS UPDATE:

Track B5, "Coaster", is sampled by Quasimoto (aka Madlib) in The Further Adventures of Lord Quas, for the track Don't Blink.
Just heard it and I'm sure.
He barely even does anything with it!

Cool Plot

The lyrics of "Say Somethin'" describe two people being introduced at a nightclub. They begin to experience mutual lust, however, each is waiting for the other to first express their feelings for one another. Eventually, the woman becomes irritated and takes the initiative ("If it's worth your while, say somethin', say somethin'"). The man reveals that the song was produced by the Neptunes and then proposes a joint-visit to the restroom to engage in a quickie; it is not revealed whether or not the woman accepts.

Tons of weird shit all on one website.

I recommend his Anatomical Shorts.

Really great and surprisingly accessible early computer music.

Not my links, probably vinyl rips from 36 15 MOOG although I found them via Google.

Really great cover by a duo called The Same.
I probably particularly like it because of the Casion VL-1 used.

Taken from an extremely recent post by Continuo, where you can find the B-side and cover art if you want.

DE DE MOUSE

DEDEMOUSE’s emotional and lyrical performance always fanaticizes the crowd. Its melody evokes a long forgotten image, and its arrange has both ‘healing power’ and ‘thrill.’ DEDEMOUSE does not stop to exert its power as a pop wizard. What waits in the path? You'd better not miss it.

Rustie

Friends with Hudson Mohawke, although you could tell that just from his music.
Their stuff is almost too similar really, but I like it so it doesn't really matter!

Here's a track of his called "Inside Pikachu's Cunt":

MEDIAFIRE

He's just been signed to Warp and I think he'll have a proper release out this year.

Some Good Bits

Fuck Ke$ha

Okay so that title is basically just hiding an Uffie post, but it is weird how much Ke$ha sounds like Uffie. Quite a bit of amusing stuff can be found by googling the issue.

Anyway, so Uffie is eventually releasing her debut album this Valentine's Day.
The Mr. Oizo produced lead-up EP/single MC's Can Kiss isn't amazing, but it's pretty funny.
A lot of her songs are amusingly reckless in one way or another.
MC's Can Kiss ends with her saying:
"...to travel the whole world/To do all kinds of stuff/I even tried out to play the saxophone/And you'll be the first one to hear how it sounds..."
Followed by a truly shit sax solo playing for ages as the track fades out.

Good outro, genuinely.

MC'S CAN KISS

And here's an older track (2007):

PALS

One Day

Kinda lame, but I do like this track.

Good strings.

Sounds a bit like Metronomy too actually.

NJS

Some (more) New Jack Swing, almost directly inspired by this great mixtape.

Plunderphonic

I like this "version" of Dolly Parton's The Great Pretender, rendered kinda dumb by John Oswald.

Apiento Remix

Not a fan of Apiento's other remixes, but I really like this one of "Excellent Birds".

I guess the original song is a pretty good starting point.

There's an amazing video for it at the beginning of that amazing "international satellite installation" I posted a while back.
